Pixie Lott picked for MTV best new act

She has been named the best new act in the UK and Ireland and will represent them at the MTV Europe Music Awards next month. Pixie was picked ahead of Florence and the Machine, La Roux, The Saturdays and Tinchy Stryder. She was nominated for two other MTV awards. The host will be Katy Perry
