I'M LOOKING FOR A DUTCH TRANSLATOR, IF INTERESTED, EMAIL ME

We lost 16 contestants last week (Omri Tindal, Niña van Dijk, Nicola Ebbink, Marx Margono, Katty Heath, Sifra Geessink, Patt Riley, Denzel Dongen, Randy Soewarno, David Gonçalves, Mathijs Rumping, Janine Heines, Ron Link, Velorisa Yorks, Jared Hiwat and Pomme van de Ven) and we were left with 16 more. I've named all the eliminated contestants cause chances are that you've already forgotten most of them. This week, 4 more will be leaving us, resulting in a Top 12, a more manageable number of finalists. Who'll be facing the axe tonight? ... This is The Voice!

Recap and videos after the JUMP ...

Johannes Rijpma

"Sex on Fire" - 5/10 - Team Nick & Simon -  He's the worst act Nick and Simon has and surprisingly, the one who's getting the most votes. His voice is borderline decent and he's got zero stage presence. Mathijs would've been a much more marketable and impressing act. I've no idea which style Johannes could fit in, I'd like to see him go country cause what he's done this past two weeks hasn't really worked. He's cute, thus he's still in the competition. But how far can his golden locks take him? - VIDEO

Claudia de Graaf

"Behind These Hazel Eyes" - 5,5/10 - Team Nick & Simon - So the one thing that made her interesting (her unknown song choices), is the one thing missing tonight. Her voice wasn't the amazing showcase it was last week but a flat and weak version of it. It's a shame, cause I enjoyed her so much last week. "Seeing you it kills me now" indeed. I can't understand how the judges have her that amount of points. - VIDEO

Salóme Pieris

"Let Me Love You" - 7/10 - Team Nick & Simon - Remember Nathaniel Willemse sang this song during the XF Au earlier this year and it was an awful mess? Well, history repeated itself tonight in the hands of Salóme. As it happened with Nathaniel, Salóme sounded really good on the initial verses but once she got to the chorus, she started sounding strained. The problem is that high note during the chorus is made for Ne-Yo's voice and I really don't think anyone else sounds good on it. It's clever from Ne-Yo actually, no one will ever be able to outsing him. Haha. - VIDEO

Maame Joses

"Umbrella" - 8,5/10 - Team Nick & Simon -  Maame seems to be trying to recreate the magic her initial audition had with this performance, and to be honest, she quite achieved it with this. And she didn't fully recreated it because of her song choice. She'll never be able to completely rearrange a Rhianna song just because she's a woman and their voices share many similarities. Had she picked a song performed by a male, she may've done it. This was a lot better than what she did last week though, her voice sounded amazing on it and the chorus worked well enough with the arrangement. - VIDEO

Eliminated:

Claudia de Graaf - 38.5

Again, I'm probably as shocked as Claudia was when they announced Johannes got that amount of votes. It was actually not a surprise that Claudia was eliminated given that her performance was a mess. It's a pity still, cause I really liked what she was all about.

Eyelar Mirzazadeh

"Can’t Stop Me" - 8/10 - Team Roel - A huge improvement over her performance last week. I actually really liked the way she sounded on this song, with the exception of the clumsy dancing, which affected her vocals a little. Whoever picked this song did a great job cause it fitted Eyelar perfectly. Her voice had lots of sass and while her performing skills need a lot of polishing, she's definitely a little star in the making. - VIDEO

Marjet van den Brand

"Uit De Schaduw" - 8/10 - Team Roel - Despite not understanding a single word, Marjet sounded completely awesome on this emotional song and I can tell that because I really sensed she was feeling it. The song wasn't the most exciting choice ever but her vocal delivery made it believable and helped it stand out. She did sound strained when she went for that big note but that's about the only bad thing here. Btw, I never thought Dutch could sound this pretty. Haha. - VIDEO

Sam Holden

"Love You More" - 7,5/10 - Team Roel - After what he did last week, anything would've been a comeback but I do think this was a proper one. Unlike the judges, I felt what he was doing here, he looked a bit bored himself, but his awesome smooth tone made it extremely enjoyable. This was a great song for him, it felt tailor made for his voice. Also, the band sounded incredible on this, and as Marco did, I applaud them! - VIDEO

Floortje Smit

"She Wolf" - 9,5/10 - Team Roel - Fantastic song choice. She's the best on Roel's team and the one I enjoy the most each week. I love this song and while she didn't sound as phenomenal as Sia does, there was a certain intensity to her performance that just amazed me. Her stare gave me goosebumps and that's what made this such a great performance. Just wow! - VIDEO

Sam was only eliminated by 1,1 point, even after getting more votes than fellow team  member Eyelar. That shows how much the judges can screw some contestants by giving them low scores. It's a tough team though, everyone is interesting on their own and while I do think Eyelar sounded better than Sam, I wish there had been a way for him to stay. I'm glad to see Floortje getting most of the votes, she's a shoe-in for the final.
